My latest crazy idea: I’m blogging as I write my next book!

Sometimes, an idea just hits me, a bolt out of the blue.

I’m sitting at the coffee shop where I do most of my writing, a fresh cup of hot, steaming coffee sending tendrils of steam up towards my nostrils.  I’m staring at a blank page, but for once, I’m not thinking about the next story I want to put down on paper.

Instead, I’m thinking about my website, and how I wish it had more live, dynamic content on it.  But as a writer, I can focus on writing for my website, or writing for my novels – I don’t have time enough to do both!

And that’s when this crazy, wild idea hits me.

I’m going to write my next book – once I figure out my idea – but I’m also going to blog about the experience as I do so!  Haven’t you, as a reader, ever wondered just what the author was thinking when she wrote a certain chapter or segment?  How the story forms and comes together in my mind?

That’s what I’m going to write on here.

I’m not going to put up the entire novel on here, of course.  If I did that, I’d have nothing to sell on Amazon, and a girl’s gotta eat!  But I am going to write a quick little blog post every time I work on this next book.  Follow along, and you’ll be like one of the many critics sitting on my shoulders as I type away!

Maybe this is a crazy idea, and it’s totally going to flop, fall through, just suck up more of my time.  That’s quite possible.  But hey, crazy ideas often turn into great books!  So follow along, as Samantha Westlake writes her next romance novel!
